Why don't you drop by and give your hidden batik talent a try?
At the Putra Adi Studio, among other attractions, you'll find a Batik Speed Course run by Mr. Hadi Pranoto, the father of the Wisma Ary's owner. The course welcomes everyone interested in learning and enjoying making batik. While covering the basics of batik, you can start creating your very own batik right away.
Mr. Pranoto, 76, is an authority in batik. Throughout his more than half a century career, he pioneered the creative batik. He devoted himself guiding juniors and some of them have become world-class batik fashion designers in their own right.
"Batik is a skill of art, we communicate through art, so we don't need words", explains Mr. Pranoto. According to him, "It takes 4 days to cover the basics, but it's quite possible to accumulate enough skill in 2 days to create small batiks".
The Batik Speed Course is open daily from morning
till 16.00
except Sundays.
Tuition fee is Rp75,000 per day.
